Unsightly, cradle cap does present however no severe. We can use simple treatments to remove them. In some cases, treatment is necessary to deal with them.
Milk Crusts: Nothing to do with milk!
Milk crusts By giving your baby a bath, you noticed the presence of patches on her scalp. If they are more or less thick, white or yellowish and they adhere to the scalp, it is probably the famous milk crusts. These crusts may also be present on the eyebrows, or even on other areas of the face. They are sometimes surrounded by redness.
Despite of what their name might suggest, cradle caps have no connection with the milk. They are so called because they have the appearance of milk forgotten on the fire. Cradle caps are a common symptom of seborrheic dermatitis in infants. This condition is due to a hyperseborrhoea (secretion of sebum) but also suspects yeast Malassezia Furfur – naturally on the scalp and skin areas rich in sebaceous glands – play a role. “Cradle cap proliferate when there this yeast” says Dr Sarah Bursaux, a pediatrician in Paris.
Milk crusts: how to remove?
Cradle cap is not serious and do not hinder the child. “We can absolutely do nothing when there are just a few of cradle cap,” says Dr. Bursaux. However, one may want to remove them for cosmetic reasons. “It is important not to scratch the dry cradle cap because the hair with leave,” warns Dr. Bursaux. Then thoroughly brush the scalp of your baby with a hairbrush adapted to be made from the crusts and shampoo.
If cradle cap outnumber nothing more to do! “It’s hard to leave cradle cap with one shampoo, warns Dr. Bursaux. In addition, milk crusts may recur because the milk anti-crusts creams do not address. At most they have a very slight effect sebum regulator, “says the pediatrician. We must therefore apply these treatments regularly hoping that one day cradle cap back less.
Milk crusts: when to treatment?
“In some cases, especially when there are a Cradle caps (the entire scalp is touched), smelly, with thick and yellowish crusts, it may be necessary to prescribe an antifungal cream, such Ketoderm® for 10 days, “Do not hesitate to consult your doctor when your child has many of cradle caps.
