Here are some basic informations about Esophageal cancer that are necessary to be known by most of people , not to be ignored it.

People at risk Because of  esophageal cancer :

People who suffer from chronic gastroesophageal reflux (heartburn ).

Repetitive lifts of gastric juices from the stomach may cause irritation of the lining of the esophagus.

In reaction to this irritation, the cells lining the esophagus can become glandular cells (cells similar to those of the stomach). The medical term that describes this state is “Barrett esophagus syndrome”.

These transformed cells are more likely to turn into adenocarcinoma type of cancer cells.
People over 50 years.

Those who have already suffered a burn injury of the esophagus in the past (the ingestion of toxic products, for example).
Risk factors
Smoking, including smoking, chewing.
Excessive consumption of alcohol.

Have undergone radiotherapy of the chest region to a cancer or Hodgkin’s disease.

Regular irritation of the esophagus caused by too frequent intake of hot liquids.

Prevention

Basic preventive measures

Regularly consume fiber, fruits and vegetables can help prevent the onset of cancer cells in the esophagus.

Do not smoke or stop smoking.

Do not consume excessive alcohol.
Screening Measures

Ten percent of people with chronic GERD develop Barrett’s syndrome. In approximately 0.5% of people with this syndrome results in the formation of an adenocarcinoma. Early detection of adenocarcinoma significantly increases the success of treatment.
