HOW TO USE MACADAMIA OIL FOR HEALTHY SKIN AND HAIR

Whether you cook with it, add it to your salads or use it topically, macadamia oil offers beautifying benefits for your skin and hair.

You may be familiar with macadamia nuts, which are one of the most popular varieties of nuts, due to their rich flavour and high nutrient profile. However, what’s even more valuable is the macadamia nut oil that can be extracted from these nuts for a number of uses.

MACADAMIA OIL FOR SKIN

You can also use macadamia oil to gently remove makeup, even stubborn mascara.  Combine macadamia oil and jojoba oil in equal proportions. Store it in a container and use it with a cotton ball just like you would use any other makeup remover.

ANTI-AGING

Although the oil is relatively thick and feels oily to the touch, it’s readily absorbed into the skin, and it doesn’t leave you feeling greasy or slimy. In addition to infusing your skin with moisture, using macadamia nut oil topically firms your skin while maintaining a youthful glow. The amount of palmitoleic acid that naturally occurs in your skin decreases as you age. By using macadamia oil, you restore your skin’s palmitoleic acid levels and decrease your skin’s rate of deterioration while keeping your skin taut and discouraging wrinkle formation.

How to use: you may use this oil directly on the skin as night treatment.

BODY OIL

Macadamia oil can be effectively used as a natural substitute for store-bought oil.

How to use: Mix 1 part macadamia oil with an equal part of grapeseed oil, 2 parts almond and apricot kernel oils and a few drops of jojoba and carrot oils to make your own revitalizing body oil. Macadamia oil adds an enticingly nutty aroma to the mix, but you can also mix in a few drops of your favourite essential oil to make a fragrant concoction to nourish and protect your skin.

SHAVING

Macadamia nut oil can be a wonderful way to moisturize the skin on a daily basis while you shave, particularly for men who regularly shave and for women who prefer shaving legs and hands rather than waxing. Macadamia nut oil can help soothe the skin and moisturize it at the same time, leaving smooth, healthier skin behind.

How to use: Simply apply the oil liberally on skin and shave like you normally do.

MACADAMIA OIL FOR HAIR

HEALTHY SHINY HAIR

The rich acid content of macadamia nut oil makes it beneficial for your hair.

How to use: Mixing it into natural shampoos can help to increase the shine and health of your hair, and strengthen the follicles in their beds. Just add few drops to your shampoo and use.

HOT OIL TREATMENT

Macadamia oil can nourish hair and scalp. A simple and hot oil treatment can make your hair healthy.

How to use: Heat 1 cup of macadamia nut oil for 40 seconds in the microwave. When it is cool to the touch but still warm you can do a hot oil treatment to treat hair and scalp.

DRY HAIR TREATMENT

Macadamia nuts contain palmitoleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that promotes the production of sebum in the scalp. This replenishes the follicles, rejuvenating the hair. It also moisturizes and strengthens rough and dry hair.

How to use: Add a little macadamia nut oil to your conditioner and apply it to the hair. This will make the hair silky and smooth. Regular hair massage with macadamia oil increases shine, rebuilds elasticity, and stimulates hair growth.

LEAVE-IN OIL

Macadamia oil, unlike conventional hair oil, does not make the hair greasy. It gets easily absorbed into the scalp, seeping into the layers of the skin. You can use macadamia oil as a serum too.

How to use: Take a few drops of macadamia oil and rub it between the palms. Smooth it through the hair to get a frizz free look
